How to adopt an animal in Africa?

Those who were following me for the past few years already know that I have adopted a young elephant named “Kauro”, who lives in Kenya.

Kauro is now 7 years old. I adopted him when he was 1 year old. That’s when the hunters killed his mother and he became a frightened, lonely orphan in the woods.

There are many charities which aim to preserve animal lives. For me, I am dealing with the “Sheldrick Wildlife Trust”, which specializes in finding endangered small animals, whose parents were murdered by vicious hunters.

Elephants, for example, become real orphans when their mother dies. They drown themselves in sorrow and cry all the time. They don’t know how to eat or drink, and they usually end up starving and/or dangerously wounded.

The Sheldrick trust collects those animals from the woods in Africa, puts them in a nursery, feeds them, and provides them with necessary medical care. Then, they introduce to other members of their same species.

All these activities need continuous support. This is done by showing these animals’ stories, photos and names. So that you could select whoever you feel connected to, and support with only $50 each year in exchange for these privileges:

– The foundation issues a formal certificate is issues with your name and emails you a copy of it.

– You get a monthly letter containing a lot of sweet photos of the adopted animal, along with a journal of their events.

– A lovely drawing of the adopted animal for you to hang it in your house or office.

– Access to the content of the animal’s journal: all their stories, including photos and video clips.

– Of course, you could come anytime to Kenya and visit your adopted animal and know them closely
